The "Welcome to New Mexico" sign. Nicely placed in the middle of nowhere. The entire state is apparantly one long climb from near sea level at El Paso to a mile high.
A dirt devil. From a safe distance. Natives here apparantly believed they were spirits. I can see why, considering they appear seemingly out of nothing. Scientists still don't really understand them.
I was afraid this sucker would turn onto the road in front of us. Thankfully it didn't.
Dad in front of the empty truck. It's impossible to see the car on the trailer from inside the cab while driving. So it was always a relief to step out and see it there.
