Here is the latest version of my printable parts catalog for James Jessiman's LDraw program:
It's new as of 17 January 2006 and includes all updates through the 1st/last/only 2005 L-Cad Offical Update.
If you do download it, I would appreciate any feedback. Especially if I made any mistakes (numbers, colors, etc.).
It's about 25 pages long once you unzip it.
- Explanation on the tables:
The brick table at the top is the easiest to explain. If you describe a brick size by the number of studs at the top (the round things that say LEGO in very small print), then a brick with only one stud would be called 1x1. A brick with 4 studs in a row is 1x4. A brick with 4 studs aligned in a square is 2x2. So if you're in LEdit, and you want to insert a brick that's 10 studs by 4 studs, you line up the 10 and 4 columns in the table in the catalog to come up with part # 6212. It just saves a lot of ink and page space to put the basic parts in tables. It's also easier than trying to count studs on a picture. I've always had trouble with that when reading LEGO set instructions. :) And my eyesight is 20/15!
- Most parts are 50% of what LDraw puts out, but there are a few exceptions either way.
The 50% thing is a scaling value. It means that I reduced the size of the images output by LDraw, so they take up less ink and paper when printed. The exceptions are for parts that are too small to see when reduced that small, or parts that are still too big, even at 50% normal size. A good example of the latter would be the baseplates, which would normally take up at least an entire page.
I've made a page detailing how I made the catalog. See it here
